Question from the Annual Meeting

In today's post, Bill Mattox answers a question raised at the Annual Business Meeting regarding church planting funds. You can reach Bill at billmattox@gmail.com.

Dear WARBC Family,

A question was asked at our business meeting regarding gifts that are designated for church planting, and I promised to respond to it after we met as a Council of 6.

Here is what I can report.

All our church planting funds are currently invested and managed by Dale Carlson who has been handling our investment fund for over 20 years. Each time a gift is designated to “church planting” it is deposited into that account.

The WARBC is currently supporting a Hispanic ministry in Plainfield, Wisconsin under the oversight of Calvary Baptist Church in Wisconsin Rapids.

A few years ago, we changed our support profile from directly supporting a ministry (by acting as the payor of an individual missionary/pastor), to a partnership with a mission agency (which handles the financial donations). This was necessary due to the complications involved in legally administering the funds. Our current agency partner in the Plainfield work is Baptist Church Planters.

Let me recap.

1. Any money that you or your church contributes to the church planting fund is deposited into the church planting fund.

2. Our monthly commitment to the Plainfield church plant is currently being administered through Baptist Church Planters.

Let me take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support for church planting in Wisconsin. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

We also want to encourage you to make planting new Bible believing and teaching churches a priority in your prayers and in your giving.

Because of Grace,

Pastor Bill Mattox

Chairman

WARBC Council of 6
